Meeting this week, Wednesday May 6,

in the Kutztown Tavern club room.
Each month the Kutztown Rotary Club recognizes one outstanding student each from Kutztown Area High School and Brandywine Heights Area High School. These students are selected by their school administrators and are often picked for significant improvement or overcoming challenges, accomplishments in academics, school participation, and community contributions. These students never fail to impress Rotarians with their positive impact on our community. Dinner for the student, two parents, and one school administrator will be paid for by the club - additional family and representatives from the school are always welcome.

In addition, we will get a short presentation of the PAWS literacy project we are supporting through the Kutztown Elementary School.

Meet at 6:00 to get a drink and socialize. We order dinner at 6:20, followed by invocation and club news.

Meeting will be hybrid - zoom link is provided below. Please contact Melissa or Rose fi you plan to join the zoom meeting. There is a waiting room for added security.

This past week for the Kutztown Rotary Club
On Wednesday, April 29, we heard from Nicole Teklits, a representative from Miller-Keystone Blood Bank, the organization we are working with for our "Disease Prevention and Treatment" centennial service project. We learned a lot about the need for and process of donating blood and are anxious to kick off our joint blood drive with Miller-Keystone scheduled for December 16, 2026. Please look for flyers and information coming out this summer.

We have been collecting plastic since last summer and will be placing benches in both the Kutztown and Topton locations this coming year.
Although the NexTrex recycling program has changed, we are going to continue to collect. Please email or text your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride to get it recorded at NexTrex.
