This past week for the Kutztown Rotary Club

Last Wednesday, April 5th, members of the Kutztown Rotary Club celebrated the Student of the Month ceremony. One student from each of Kutztown Area High School and Brandywine Heights Area High School is selected by school administrators each month throughout the school year for this award based collectively on academic achievement, school participation, and community contributions. This month we had 2 students from Brandywine Heights Area High School as one was unable to attend in March.

Shown here are Olivia Vos from Kutztown Area school district as well as Lauren Stoudt and Madison Haring from Brandywine Height School District. All three ladies addressed the club members at the Ceremony where they demonstrated qualities of exemplary students. They also entertained questions from the club members and showed off their talents and abilities.

The ceremony normally occurs during the Kutztown Rotary meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at the Kutztown Tavern, where the weekly meetings for the club generally take place. We wish Olivia, Madison, and Lauren the best of luck in their future endeavors.

In addition to student of the month, we heard from a speaker, Chrissy Murray.

Chrissy is the Outreach Coordinator at Senior Life in Exeter. Senior Life provides a variety of programs and services to help seniors stay at home and age with dignity. She is also a volunteer ambassador with the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser to fight the disease. Chrissy gave a very engaging presentation about the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association and shared importation information about brain health. In addition, she encouraged us to join her in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's event.

Please visit the link below for more details or to register for the walk.
