Meeting this week
Wednesday, July 10
 
Tom Kulp will sponsor the program and speak to us on the role of Kutztown in the Battle of Gettysburg, as a commemoration of the battle that took place over July 1- July 3, 1863.
 
As usual, please arrive at 6:00 if you plan to get a drink at the bar. We order dinner at 6:20, followed by an invocation and club news. For those who wish to join by zoom, program will start around 7:15. 
 
There will be a board meeting at 5:30 using the same zoom link as the club meeting.

The next meeting for the 100 Anniversary committee will be Tuesday, July 16 at 6:00 at the Hobaugh's house - 710 East Walnut Street. Please use zoom link here if you cannot attend. Meeting ID: 899 5491 3307; Password: 971751

Please sign up here for the social night on July 24. There are 2 separate columns - one for mini golf at Gasser's and one for Liberty Taproom. Please fill in both columns so there is no confusion - please complete the sign up by July 23.

Club announcement: Our district grant partnering with the Strand and KCP has been approved! The grant is called Story Guardians Screen Writing Club and it is an afterschool interactive program for middle school children. We will invite Barb Vogelgesang to a meeting to share details with the club.

The club will be volunteering for the Dinner on Main event which will occur on August 2 from 6:00 to 10:00. We need 20-25 volunteers to help set up/break down tables and chairs (set-up 3:30-5:00 and breakdown 9:00-10:00). Look for link to sign up soon or send an email to Jim Springer.

Besides dinner on main, the next volunteer activities are:
  • Das Auch Fest on August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th - contact Bob Hobaugh to volunteer - parking, breakfast, and lunch provided to volunteers
  • Kutztown Day on August 4th - there are 2 shifts and we need approximately 5 people for each - sign up here

Last week's meeting
On Wednesday, July 10 we began our new 2024-2025 Rotary Year with a Club Assembly. We did some Rotary business and Marie also combined it with some fun giveaways! Unfortunately, the projector in the club room was malfunctioning, so we were not able to show her slides. However, you can follow the link below to see what would have been projected.
