Last Week for the Kutztown Rotary Club
Wednesday, September 23, was club assembly and
membership induction night.

Some topics discussed at club assembly included:
  • The 2 options discussed for club shirt orders were Russel Hampton polos and buy your own and have a company do embroidery (Geist or Rockland) - club prefers option 2 - more details to come
  • We are in need of a membership chair - please reach out to Rose or Laura if you are interested
  • We are in need of a president elect (president for 2027-2028) - training starts in November - Laura might be willing to co-president with someone
  • Farmer's Night is targeted for February 10th and may change location to Virginville Grange - Bob Hobaugh will chair and a committee is needed - Please reach out to Bob if you are interested

A very big welcome to our newest club member, Bill Bond!

The club was also present at the Topton Fire Company Breakfast to sell our awesome travel package raffle tickets. Thank you, Amanda and Jim!
CENTENNIAL SERVICE PROJECTS FOR THE
ROTARY SEVEN AREAS OF FOCUS!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February is Peacebuilding & Conflict Prevention
A Rotary Peace Pole has been placed in our community!
Please visit our Centennial website page here to read the story!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March is Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene

We partnered with Help a Girl Out USA in a collection drive throughout February which was sorted and donated in March.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
April is Environmental
We have been collecting plastic since last summer and have so far gotten one bench which was placed at the Boyer Park along with our Peace Pole on September 2.
Please email or text your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride to get it recorded at NexTrex.
Although we had 4 entries in the Q2 drawing we did not win a prize in the drawing. But we did recycle a lot of plastic and did a bit of good for the environment!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July is Maternal and Child Health
To celebrate this area of focus, the Kutztown Rotary Club held a baby bundles drive in the months of July and August and, along with the Strand Theater, sponsored a double feature movie for the community to view a movie in exchange for a baby item donation.

Members delivered the Baby Bundles donation items to Friend, Inc and got a tour of the fabulous new facility. We enjoyed a pizza dinner from Tommy Boys and got to hear all about the renovations (current and future) and the amazing big plans Friend has to help the community.

Please follow this link to see more pictures of the Baby Bundles Drive.
