Meeting on Wednesday, August 6
Let's meet at the Kutztown Fair to spread a little Rotary into the town and to enjoy some camaraderie. Please wear Rotary garb or at least your membership pin. 
 
Grab some food and meet in the beer garden at 6:00 for some Rotary fun. Stay for music from the Zeptones at 7:00.

Spread the word to TOK volunteers
for the TOK volunteer dinner on August 13, 2025 at the Market Cafe
Club members are asked to pay the normal $18 meeting dinner fee to offset
the cost for outside volunteers. Please bring the money the night of the event.

Strike Out Hunger at the Phillies on August 18
Please join us for Strike Out Hunger night on Monday, August 18 when the Phillies play the Mariners at Citizens Bank Park.  Our own Past District Governor Herb Klotz will be throwing out the first pitch on behalf of Rotary!

Kutztown Rotary this past week
Wednesday, July 30 meeting: PDG Diane Donaher for the District Mental Health and Wellness Initiative
 
Meeting on Wednesday, July 30, was at the Kutztown Tavern Club Room where we were joined by Past District Governor Diane Donaher who told us about a new initiative in our district on mental health and wellness. The primary objectives of the initiative are:
  • Education: Raise awareness about the importance of mental health wellness among Rotarians and the broader community through our website and social media.
  • Ending Stigma: Foster greater understanding of mental health conditions and work to reduce the stigma surrounding them.
  • Encouragement: Inspire and empower fellow Rotarians and community members to pursue their own paths to mental health wellness.

Kutztown Rotarians volunteering over the weekend
 
Das Awkscht Fescht 2025 - shown is Bob being interviewed by Channel 69 and Rotary members and spouses volunteering to help out.
 
Kutztown Day 2025 - we had a tent this year where kids could color on cute handouts and make fun tissue paper flowers. In addition, we were active on the planning committee, helped judge the cupcake competition, and collected donations at the concerts in the bandshell to go towards next year's event.

Kutztown Rotary Club will celebrate a 100-year anniversary in
April of 2026 and we are celebrating the whole year of 2026!
Our tentative timeline is shown here:
 
NexTrex recycling program - Keep up the great work!
We are nearly at 300 lbs!
 
 If you are able to, please take the recycling to Weis in Kutztown. Clear bags to use for the recycling and a scale are available in the Taveren Clubroom. If it is small, check to see if it can fit in the recycling bin at the front of the store. If it is too big for that bin, please ask at customer service desk (before 8:00 pm) and they will unlock the gate behind the store for you to drop it off there. Please email your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride to get it recorded at NexTrex to count towards our 1000 lbs for the bench. If you are unable to drop off the plastic yourself, please bring it to a meeting.
