Kutztown Rotary Club celebrated a Paul Harris Award Night
On Wednesday, March 25th we had the honor of celebrating a
very special People of Action Award with the Kutztown Rotary Club.
Every community has those quiet heroes…
The ones who show up, give back, and make a difference without asking for recognition. Teachers, volunteers, business owners, neighbors
—people who simply care and take action.
This year, we were proud to recognize Sandy Green as our
People of Action Award recipient
Sandy made history as the first woman elected Mayor of Kutztown,
serving for 12 years and guiding the borough
through a period of meaningful growth and revitalization.
But Sandy’s impact extends far beyond her time in office.
For more than two decades, she has been deeply involved with the
Kutztown Community Partnership, helping lead initiatives that enhance quality of life, support the arts, and bring people together.
This award was so well deserved and truly appreciated by Sandy
as noted in her gracious thank you speech to the club.
We also celebrated some new club member Paul Harris Fellows and took time to recognize existing Paul Harris fellows in the club as well. We appreciate all of our club members who are actively supporting and uplifting our community in real, meaningful ways.
A Rotary Peace Pole will be coming to our community as well as a peace poster contest for students in the Kutztown and Brandywine school districts! Look for an unveiling ceremony coming soon!
We have been collecting plastic since last summer and will be placing benches in both the Kutztown and Topton locations this coming year.
Although the NexTrex recycling program has changed, we are going to continue to collect. Please email or text your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride to get it recorded at NexTrex.
