Meeting this week, Wednesday June 10, will TOK volunteer training at the Kutztown Community Park.
Meet at the Kutztown community park ceres pavilion (the one closest to the playground) at 6:00. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Volunteer to give out flags and collect donations at the 

Flag Day Celebration in the Kutztown Park Band Shell on Tuesday, June 16.

Please wear Rotary garb to show Rotary participation. Event runs for 7:30 to 9 - please be there by 6:45 to hand out flags. Please sign up here.

Dinner at Camp Edmar will be $10 per person to offset the cost of the meal provided by the camp. Please pay at a club meeting in June next club meeting or send a check to Kutztown Rotary Club PO Box 127 Kutztown PA 19530.
 
Please also join us for sharing of adult beverages at Kurt's house following the installation dinner. Please indicate on the sign-up sheet if you will be attending. All are encouraged to bring an adult beverage to share.

Last Wednesday, June 1, we had our
last club assembly under President Rose.
At the club assembly last week, along with normal club business of budgets and expense approvals, the following items were discussed/presented:
  • Reminder that we are taking another month to allow club members to explore accountant options (questions to ask: do they have experience working with non-profits, which services do they provide for non-profits, what is their general cost)
  • We plan to volunteer to help set up and tear down the PAWS project this summer - look for updates soon
  • Baby bundles drive event for our July centennial service project (Maternal and Child Health)
    • We will be kicking off the event with a raffle for donations at TOK (see flyer above)
    • We were hoping to do a drive at local grocery stores, but they are not being cooperative.
    • We will be doing a drive through the summer along with (hopefully) a movie at the strand
    • We are hoping to schedule a visit to Friend at the end of August to get a tour and deliver the donations.
  • Kutztown Day is August 2nd - we need quite a few volunteers and a sign-up sheet will be circulated soon
  • Fall Fest - please put the date of September 19th on your calendar to help volunteer at Kutztown Fall Fest on Main
 
CENTENNIAL SERVICE PROJECTS FOR THE ROTARY SEVEN AREAS OF FOCUS!

February is Peacebuilding & Conflict Prevention
A Rotary Peace Pole will be coming to our community as well as a peace poster contest for students in the Kutztown and Brandywine school districts! Look for an unveiling ceremony coming soon!

March is Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene 

We are partnering with Help a Girl Out USA in a collection drive throughout February to be sorted and donated in March. See details above.

April is Environmental
We have been collecting plastic since last summer and will be placing benches in both the Kutztown and Topton locations this coming year.
Although the NexTrex recycling program has changed, we are going to continue to collect. Please email or text your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride to get it recorded at NexTrex.
