Kutztown Rotary Farmers' Night
Last Wednesday, February 11, the Kutztown Rotary Club hosted its 89th annual Farmers Night with 180 farmers and other guests, including Fleetwood Rotary Club. Speakers included PA Grange President Matt Espenshade, Senator Judy Schwank, and FFA students from Oley, Brandywine and Kutztown High Schools. The students again very much enjoyed the milk chugging contest with milk supplied by Way-Har Farms, the owners of which were our Farm Family of the Year.
Special thanks to Kaleigh Grim and Bob Hobaugh for organizing the event as well as all of the Rotarians on the Farmers' Night committee for all their hard work.
A Rotary Peace Pole will be coming to our community as well as a peace poster contest for students in the Kutztown and Brandywine school districts! Look for an unveiling ceremony coming soon!
We have been collecting plastic since last summer and will be placing benches in both the Kutztown and Topton locations this coming year.
Although the NexTrex recycling program has changed, we are going to continue to collect. Please email or text your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride to get it recorded at NexTrex.
