Meeting this week
Meeting this Wednesday, January 29, will be at the Kutztown Tavern Club Room. The speaker will be Roy Leidy from Semper Fi & America's Fund
Roy is in charge of Semper Fi Fest which supports an organization called Semper Fi & America’s Fund. The goal of the organization is to get US armed service members and veterans together to support combat wounded, critically ill and other injured service members and veterans along with their family members.
Bills for 2025 have been sent out via email to members who did not already pay in December. The bill is due by January 31, 2025. Please pay your dues during a meeting or send a check to Kutztown Rotary Club, PO Box 127 Kutztown PA, 19530.
Valentine Boxes for Lighthouse Women's and Children's Shelter
The Valentine boxes are decorated, but we still need donations! We will be collecting items to fill the boxes up to February 10. Please help brighten the day for these women and children in need!
Please remember to sign up for the member Valentine's dinner on February 12 so we can get an idea of numbers for the night. The description and signup sheet can be found here.
Check your email for a description of Farmers' Night on February 19, 2025. This is a wonderful night to show your support for our local farming community. Please follow this link to the sign-up sheet to let us know if you will be attending Farmers' Night and if you are willing to support a farmer by contributing the cost of a dinner.
Please remember to tell the club secretary (Melissa Kirk) who/what your programming will be for your assigned meeting night no later than 6 weeks before your date. If you cannot provide a program for your assigned date, please switch with someone and let Melissa know as soon as possible. The current meeting list can be found at this link.

January 22 meeting - Club Assembly
Last week, President Marie addressed the club to give us a review of the last 6 months and a preview of the next 6 months of the Kutztown Rotary Club doings. It is an exciting year getting ready for our centennial celebration next year. Our club is a great mix of service and fun. Kutztown Rotary Club sponsored Kutztown Kitchen at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday, January 26 cooking and serving ham, sweet potatoes, and green beans. We had approximately 30 take out dinners and 30-40 eat-in dinners.

The Rotary International Constitution was changed in 1989 to allow women to be members. The first female president in our club was elected just 11 years later - Erin Webb 2000-2001.
