Meeting for the week of Wednesday, March 4th is Student of the Month at the Tavern Club Room.
Each month the Kutztown Rotary Club recognizes one outstanding student each from Kutztown Area High School and Brandywine Heights Area High School. These students are selected by their school administrators and are often picked for significant improvement or overcoming challenges, accomplishments in academics, school participation, and community contributions. These students never fail to impress Rotarians with their positive impact on our community. Dinner for the student, two parents, and one school administrator will be paid for by the club - additional family and representatives from the school are always welcome.
In addition, a Rotary speaker will be giving a short presentation on a Rotary topic.
Meet at 6:00 to get a drink and socialize. We order dinner at 6:20, followed by invocation and club news.
Meeting will be hybrid - please contact Melissa or Rose if you plan to join by zoom so that we can let you into the meeting. For added security, there will be a waiting room for this meeting.

This past week for the
Kutztown Rotary Club
Last Wednesday, February 25th, the Kutztown Rotary Club held its club 4-way speech contest.
The 4-Way Test Speech Contest was developed by Rotarians to promote critical thinking and ethical decision making among high school students. The contest encourages students to develop speaking and leadership skills to influence others on a topic for which they are passionate. The 2 students that competed in the contest this year were Jonathon Z. from Kutztown High school and Kyle H. from Muhlenberg High School (shown below). The competition was close and the speeches were both very good. The winner for this club-level competition was Kyle, who will now move on to the Regional contest and then have an opportunity to possibly compete at the District level. Cash prizes are awarded at all levels.
Kutztown Rotary participated in the
Scholastic Art Awards Contest
Kutztown University is the home to the East Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards for students in grades 7-12. The exhibition of student artwork was in the KU Miller Gallery located in the Sharadin Arts Building with the artwork on display until the recognition ceremony this past weekend on March 1st in the KU Schaeffer Auditorium.
There were over 800 submissions from 27 local schools, and KAHS earned 16 awards. The Kutztown Rotary presented a "Kutztown Rotary Young Artist Award" for $100 to Rhiannon G. during the ceremony on March 1st. Congratulations to Rhiannon.
