Please help us earn a bench to place near the pickle ball courts we sponsored at the Kutztown Park. Use the picture below to see what type of plastic to recycle. Collect your plastic in a bag (clear plastic if you can), take a picture of the plastic, weigh the plastic, and record the weight. If you are able to, please take the recycling to Weis in Kutztown. If it is small, check to see if it can fit in the recycling bin at the front of the store. If it is too big for that bin, please ask at customer service desk (before 8:00 pm) and they will unlock the gate behind the store for you to drop it off there. Please email your picture and the weight to Melissa Kirk or Laura McBride. They will get it recorded at NexTrex and it will count towards our 1000 lbs for the bench. If you are unable to drop off the plastic yourself, please bring it to a meeting.
We will be helping to clean up the Deisher Monument in Kutztown. It is in the Deisher Family Cemetery on College Blvd past the college by the DLP Kutztown apartment complex.

Last Wednesday, May 7, members of the Kutztown Rotary Club celebrated the Student of the Month ceremony. One student from each of Kutztown Area High School and Brandywine Heights Area High School is selected by school administrators each month throughout the school year for this award based collectively on academic achievement, school participation, and community contributions. Pictures below show Sadie Berger, from Kutztown Area High School (May Student) and Rachel Robison and Christina Schuster, both from Brandywine Heights Area High School (April and May students).
All 3 ladies addressed the club members at the Ceremony where they all demonstrated qualities of exemplary students. They entertained questions from the club members and showed off their talents and abilities. The ceremony normally occurs during the Kutztown Rotary meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at the Kutztown Tavern, where the weekly meetings for the club generally take place. We wish Sadie, Rachel, and Christina the best of luck in their future endeavors.
