Field trip to Longswamp Historical Society on Wednesday, September 30
Come join us on a tour of the little Longswamp Historical Society museum. The museum is a little small, but we can tour it in groups if we need to. We also plan to get a sandwich platter dinner, so please RSVP on thesign up listbelow so we know the number of people attending. We are not sure of the dinner cost yet, but probably somewhere around $10 - $15 per person. As long as the weather cooperates, the plan is to eat at one of the pavilions in the park.
Wednesday, September 16, was a Paint and Sip night
at Marie's Art Studio
We would all like to extend a big thank you to Marie for hosting a fabulous
paint and sip event at her studio in Lobachsville.
We all had a fun time and learned some great painting tips.
We all wish Marie luck on her new studio.
The club was also very active over the weekend with a presence and volunteer work at the Kutztown Fall Fest on Saturday and presence and support at the Berks Fiddle Fest on Sunday.
Thank you to all of the members who generously donated their time this weekend!
We have been collecting plastic since last summer and have so far gotten one bench which was placed at the Boyer Park along with our Peace Pole on September 2.
Please email or text your picture and the weight toMelissa Kirk or Laura McBrideto get it recorded at NexTrex.
Although we had 4 entries in the Q2 drawing we did not win a prize in the drawing. But we did recycle a lot of plastic and did a bit of good for the environment!
To celebrate this area of focus, the Kutztown Rotary Club held a baby bundles drive in the months of July and August and, along with the Strand Theater, sponsored a double feature movie for the community to view a movie in exchange for a baby item donation.
Members delivered the Baby Bundles donation items to Friend, Inc and got a tour of the fabulous new facility. We enjoyed a pizza dinner from Tommy Boys and got to hear all about the renovations (current and future) and the amazing big plans Friend has to help the community.
