We were very happy to participate in the Area 3 Christmas party this year at Moselem Springs Golf Club on December 13, 2023. A big thank you to our president, Kurt Rohrbach for spearheading the plans and getting the event organized. Also, a special thank you to District Governor Diane Donaher for taking the time out of her busy schedule to attend the event. Thank you to all of the Kutztown club members who attended (pictured above) as well as members from the other Area 3 clubs, Muhlenberg, Fleetwood, Hamburg, and Reading, many of whom are pictured below.
On December 20, 2023, the Kutztown Club joined in the traditional holiday exchange party. As our esteemed president pointed out, there were many reasons to attend this annual meeting. First and foremost, our Yankee present swap reached an all-time high this year, most likely because of the generous cost of living increase decree by our president to increase the present limit to $13.91.
So many lovely presents to choose from!
So much stealing going on! Are we forgetting the 4-way test?
Lastly, we honored our favorite Kutztown Tavern server by including him in the exchange and providing a gift to show our appreciation for how well he takes care of us all year long.
We will continue our normal member spotlight, focusing on our newest members, starting in January 2024. This month, we are going to take a moment to thank the club members who came forward to accept nominations for the 2024-2025 club and foundation board positions. Along with the fun festivities during our annual club holiday party, we also had a club vote for these positions. Below are the officers and board members as of July 1, 2024.
Members of the Kutztown Rotary Club celebrated a Student of the Month ceremony on December 6, 2023. One student from each of the Kutztown Area High School and Brandywine Heights Area High School is selected by school administrators each month throughout the school year for this award based collectively on academic achievement, school participation , and community contributions. Honored for December was Elise Sick for Kutztown and Elyse Stufflet for Brandywine Heights.
The students addressed the club members at the Student of the Month Ceremony where they demonstrate qualities of exemplary students. The ceremony normally occurs during the Kutztown Rotary meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at the Kutztown Tavern, where the weekly meetings for the club generally take place.
